The house is nestled in beautiful surroundings, offering great recreational opportunities year-round. Hurdal, often called the "Pearl of the East," boasts eight of Akershus' ten highest peaks and 40 picturesque mountain lakes, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
The ecovillage is home to approximately 60 households, with plans for further expansion in the near future. It is a vibrant and diverse community, representing a range of nationalities, including Scandinavian, Dutch, German, Polish, French, and English, among others. Enjoy excellent opportunities for social engagement in a welcoming and family-friendly environment, just a short walk away! The Eco-farm, situated next to the retreat center, offers organic cooperative farming, allowing members to participate in sustainable agriculture and connect with nature.
Hurdal municipality provides all essential amenities, including municipal and health services, two grocery stores, a pharmacy, a gas station, and a newly built school for ages 7–16. The school also features a cinema, a public library,, and a spacious multi-purpose sports hall. Several kindergartens are located nearby, making Hurdal an ideal place for families to grow and thrive.
